This is a medium level hill walk starting at Inverey. The route follows the west side of the Ey Burn beside a wood, then follows tributaries to a moorland glen where the track climbs fairly steeply to the summit of Carn Liath (GR 036868). The walk levels out along the plateau to Carn na Moine, offering superb views of the Cairngorms. We then descend down into the woods, returning to Inverey.

During the recce golden plovers, twite, mistle thrush were all spotted along with plenty of flora and deer. So come prepared with camera and binoculars!

Walkers must wear walking boots, warm and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves and take plenty food and warm drink. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. Be prepared for possible wintry conditions There will be a short stop in Braemar on return journey for refreshments
