Badandun Hill

Distance 11km (7mls) Ascent 600m OSmaps 43 and 44

We start in Glen Isla, by the track to Fergus Farm (NO189684) and follow the track that ascends to just short of the summit of Craig Lair. If the weather is good, we will make a detour to Mid Hill (774m), returning over the summit of Craig Lair (711m). From there, we follow the ridge to the col and then on to the summit of Badandun Hill (740m, NO207678), where there is a trig point. If conditions allow, we descend off-path down heathery slopes and cross the burn at NO198684 to rejoin the track. Note, however, that if the burn is in spate, it will be necessary to take an alternative route from the summit, returning via the col and descending the track.

Walkers must wear walking boots, carry WARM and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves and take plenty food and liquids. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. Be prepared for possible wintry conditions and snow on the top whatever the forecast.
