Distance 10 kms Ascent 200 metres OS maps 44 & 45
We start at Tillycroy road junction (GR NO609932) and follow an easy ascent via the edge of farm land to the summit of Tomís Cairn (310m) where hopefully there will be some fine views of the Aberdeenshire countryside. Thereafter, we descend west through the woods to Corsearderar and the war memorial. We then cross the B976 and walk down the side of the Long Cairn. Later on we recross the road further down and follow good woodland paths until we approach Birkenhill farm where we turn east and walk out passing Shannel before we reach the Old Military Road. At this point we pick up a new section of the Deeside Way and continue until we reach Potarch picnic area.
